The School

Shillington Lower School is a rural school set in a pleasant village in mid-Bedfordshire.

While most of us come from the village itself, some of us come from other villages, such as Silsoe, Clophill, Shefford, Campton, Meppershall and Barton-le-Clay.

We pride ourselves on retaining single-year group teaching – average class size 26. Our spacious site also means that we have created an outdoor environment second to none.

OFSTED rates us as an ‘effective school where pupils flourish’ and has been graded with top marks during an Ofsted inspection.

Shillington Lower School was awarded the highest grade of ‘outstanding’ in effectiveness of the Foundation Stage, Personal Development and Well Being, Curriculum and Other Activities and Care Guidance and Support.
